The Keil Centre has moved!

The Keil Centre has moved premises to 18 Atholl Crescent, a prestigious Victorian Crescent in the heart of Edinburgh’s West-End. This central location is easily accessible via the excellent transportation links provided by Haymarket Rail Station, plentiful bus routes along Shandwick Place, Edinburgh Airport and new tram service.

Healthy Working Lives - Silver Award

The Keil Centre is pleased to announce it has been successful in achieving the Silver standard in the Healthy Working Lives Award Programme.

Healthy Working Lives aims to improve health and well-being in the workplace and make this an integral part of Scottish corporate culture. The Keil Centre had to submit a detailed portfolio of evidence, which received very positive feedback from the HWL committee.

   

Human Factors in Health & SafetyDirk Roosendans from Total Petrochemicals, receiving his award

The first modular professional development course, run jointly with IChemE was recently completed. This course is approved by the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors. Fifty delegates took part, and a repeat course is scheduled to commence in September 2010. A course prize for best application of human factors knowledge was awarded to Dirk Roosendans of Total Petrochemicals.

Ergonomics Essentials course - 17th-21st May 2010

The Keil Centre, in partnership with WorksOut, is delivering an ergonomics course in Edinburgh on 17th-21st May 2010. Ergonomics Essentials is a comprehensive 5-day training course and is ideal for occupational health advisors, health and safety, physios and anyone else who would like a broad introduction to ergonomics.

The course is aimed at enabling delegates to optimise the application of ergonomics within their organisations, but it also enables the delegate to take the optional British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) module examination (M203), which leads to a module certificate from BOHS.

Investors in People recertification

We are pleased to announce that The Keil Centre passed its Investors in People recertification with flying colours in January 2010. The assessor commented that progress has been made since the last successful audit 3 years ago.

Janette Edmonds

The Keil Centre is pleased to welcome Janette Edmonds to our team as a Principal Consultant Ergonomist. Janette is a Fellow of the UK Ergonomics Society and is Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, and will be working as part of The Keil Centre's Human Factors Team.

She has 15 years' of practical ergonomics experience within various industries including the emergency services, defence, oil & gas, rail, telecoms and other applications.
