Janette Edmonds

Janette has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in ergonomics. She has been practising ergonomics since 1994 within various industries including oil & gas, the emergency services, defence, rail, telecoms, medical products and other applications.
 
Janette was awarded the William F Floyd award in 1999 for her outstanding contribution to ergonomics and she has the following professional accreditations:
 
 
Janette's recent work includes:
 
  • Delivery training programmes related to Human Factors in the development of procedures (power generation, oil and gas)
  • Design support for a control room and control system upgrade for a North Sea oil and gas platform
  • Human Factors Integration for the installation of a long term compression module for a North sea platform (plant side)
  • Review of procedures and incidents relating to offshore lifting operations
  • Stress management programme implementation and training (telecoms, defence, oil and gas)
  • Delivery of training for human factors in incident investigation
  • Design and development of body armour and load carriage systems for the police service
  • Control room design for various UK police forces
  • Consumer product design, mainly medical and surgical devices
  • Expert witness for personal injury cases
  • Awareness and introductory course in ergonomics and human factors (cross-industry)
