Human Factors Awareness Training

The Keil Centre has a strong reputation for its training courses, delivered to clients from a range of industries. Of increasing importance in many such industries is the need for personnel to have a basic understanding of human factors. This helps to empower personnel to tackle some basic human factors issues in the workplace, and for managers to better understand and prioritise these issues.

The Keil Centre has developed one-day and three-day human factors courses for managers, supervisors, HSE specialists and safety representatives, offering training in all aspects of human factors relating to safety (as defined by the UK Health and Safety Executive).

Human Factors Analysis Tools

The Keil Centre also offers training to organisations wishing to apply human factors techniques to identify the root causes of human behaviour during incident investigations. It is often clear what happened, but unclear why those involved behaved in they way that they did. The 2-day training course is built around a set of practical, user friendly tools which trainees gain experience of using during the course, and can take away with them when they complete the course. The training is very practical in nature, and uses case studies based upon real events to teach experienced investigators how to use the tools. These methods have been used successfully by incident investigators in the petrochemical, offshore oil and gas, construction and rail transport industries to gain a deeper understanding of human behaviour, and implement more effective corrective actions.
