Laura graduated in psychology from the Open University in
1999. She continued her studies in psychology at Strathclyde
University where she gained a masters of Philosophy for research
in the department of psychology, her thesis looked at the
psychological symptoms related to healthcare satisfaction.
Laura completed her diploma in counselling in 1999 and her
postgraduate training in psychotherapy in 2003. More recently
Laura has worked towards chartered status as a Counselling
Psychologist through the British Psychological Society independent
route.
She has worked with a variety of clients in settings including
the NHS, primary care and the independent sector. She has
extensive experience with groups, families and couples as
well as individual work.
Using an integrative approach Laura emphasises the importance
of developing a good therapeutic relationship that can support
and challenge the client. By integrating a range of different
theoretical orientations according to the individual needs
of the client, she aims to be flexible and responsive to client
needs.
