Johnny graduated in Psychology from the University of Leicester
in 1999. Following this he worked for a few years for an international
human resource consultancy, delivered a number of HR projects
including developing and running assessment centres and project
managing the implementation of ‘flexible benefit’ schemes.
He also travelled abroad, and worked in Perth, Australia managing
a community arts project.
Subsequently, Johnny gained considerable experience as a
psychologist helping brain-injured people into work while
completing a diploma in Organisational Stress Management.
He then completed his MSc in Occupational Psychology at the
Institute of Work Psychology, University of Sheffield. His
Masters project investigated the links between trust, communication
and safety at a national transport maintenance organisation.
He joined the Keil Centre's human factors team in 2006 and
current/recent work includes:
- the delivery of Safety Culture Maturity® projects in
pharmaceutical, construction, manufacturing and service
industries
- developing and implementing safety leadership competencies
in the oil and gas and pharmaceutical industries
- delivery of Human Factors Analysis Tools training to a
range of clients within the UK wishing to develop the capability
to identify the root causes of human behaviours involved
in accidents and incidents
- the design and delivery of workshops for improving shift
handovers in the oil and gas industry
- reviewing a series of incident reports to identify common
human factors issues in the oil and gas industry
- investigation into the links between trust in management
and safety behaviour at a large maintenance organisation
- delivery of workshops for managers on how to promote positive
psychological health at work
- design and delivery of development workshops for central
government teams
- design and delivery of stress management sessions for
groups and individuals
