Chiara Anne Amati joined The Keil Centre in January 2001. She is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and a member of the British Psychological Society, Division of Occupational Psychology's Committee.

Chiara specialises in two main areas:

Psychological health at work

Chiara's main area of interest is psychological wellbeing and health at work and the implications for the way we work and manage or are managed. Chiara has helped companies understand the way emotions, such as stress, affect their staff's wellbeing and performance. Chiara has developed a range of training and learning programmes to understand how organisations and individuals can promote positive psychological health at work. Chiara has also advised and helped organisations design and implement methods to effectively measure sources of stress at work and identify practical preventative solutions.

Assessment & development for individuals and teams

Chiara has experience in helping organisations in their selection of senior posts: from the design of relevant competencies to the use of a range of psychometric instruments to assist panels in their selection decisions. Chiara has also integrated her understanding of emotion at work in her work with individuals and teams in a variety of team-building and coaching interventions.

Chiara also continues to work with the Human Factors team on a number of projects including work on safety culture assessment and improvement. She has recently been involved in the following projects:

  • Delivering of SCMM workshops and assessment in UK and worldwide, in English, Italian and French;
  • Developing safety culture assessment methods based on safety competencies;
  • Developing people-management competencies for supervisors in safety-critical roles
