Ergonomics

What is Ergonomics?

Ergonomics is the application of knowledge about humans to the design of equipment, systems (e.g. safe systems of work, procedures) and environments for humans to use. Ergonomics incorporates elements from many subjects including anatomy, physiology, psychology and design to help make sure that anything a person may use as part of their job or their social life is designed according to established ergonomic principles or best practices. Such principles are designed to make sure that the things that people need to use are designed with their capabilities in mind, making products and environments comfortable, safe and efficient to use.

At The Keil Centre we provide Ergonomics expertise whether you are designing from scratch or buying off the shelf. We can provide specific or general design advice and audits based upon best practice design principles. We can also help you to evaluate a number of rival designs offered by suppliers of equipment to help you select equipment that will be safe, cost effective and efficient to use.
