Dr Dorothy Bell is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who works for The Keil Centre on a part-time associate basis, mainly conducting assessments and diagnoses of Asperger Syndrome and Autism with adults.
Recent work includes:
- Employment as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the area of adults with learning disabilities in Ayrshire & Arran, Forth Valley, Argyll & Bute, and Dumfries & Galloway Health Boards.
- Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow in its post-graduate Doctorate programme for the training of clinical psychologists.
- The publication of over 300 pages in professional, peer-reviewed journals in a wide range of areas including communication difficulties, challenging behaviour and autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger Syndrome.
- In recent years, following specific training in the use of The Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Communication Disorders (DISCO), the completion of detailed assessments of adults with Asperger Syndrome for Dumfries & Galloway Health Board.
